What is Perthes Disease?
Perthes disease is a childhood condition where blood supply to the femoral head is temporarily disrupted, causing the bone to weaken and break down. It primarily affects boys between the ages of 4 and 10. Symptoms include limping, hip or knee pain, and reduced hip movement. Management depends on severity and age, ranging from observation to surgery.
